After carrying out our EV site survey, which helps us tailor our work to our client’s needs, Chris decided he wanted a modern-looking tethered charger with an easy-to-use app.
We chose the Hypervolt Home 3.0, because of its sleek design and beautifully intuitive app. Were big fans of the Hypervolt chargers and are proud to say OJF Electrical has recently become a official installer of Hypervolt EV Chargers.
Hypervolt is a UK made charger is the current brand leader in the EV industry. We explained to Chris that his choice of chargers comes in 3 different colours – (White, Ultra Black, and Space Grey). For this project, the client chose Ultra black which looks fantastic.
In total the job took 1 day which also included the installation of a separate EV fuse board with RCBO and SPD (Surge protection device) protection.
This protects the user if a fault should happen and also protects the internal electrics of the car if a surge should occur. Ultra EV cable was then run at a low level, keeping it out of sight, around the front of the property. Having a discrete cable was important for Chris, so we made sure we could accommodate this.
The charger was then mounted onto the wall and wired up. We installed a CT clamp that monitors the load being pulled from the house so the charger stays within the property fuse size limit.
All chargers are tested and certified and we also raise a note on behalf of our clients to the DNO (Distribution Network Operator) letting them know that a charger has been installed at the property.
